Des McAnuff's bold production of Gounod's Faust, first seen in 2011, returned this spring with Piotr Beczala singing the title role for the first time at the Met. Marina Poplavskaya was Marguerite, John Relyea sang Méphistophélès, and Alain Altinoglu conducted.
