Bryn Terfel as Wotan leads the cast in the Ring’s first installment. Robert Lepage's groundbreaking production is conducted by Fabio Luisi. “The Ring is about change,” Lepage says. “I try to be extremely respectful of Wagner’s storytelling, but in a very modern context. We’re trying to see how in our day and age we can tell this classical story in the most complete way.”
These performances are also available as part of a complete 2011–12 Ring cycle.
