Position Summary
The Advertising and Promotions Coordinator reports directly to the Associate Director of Marketing and Advertising and will assist in negotiating, buying, and implementing excellent media campaigns across print, outdoor, online and broadcast platforms.
Primary Responsibilities
Advertising (Print & Online)
- Shepherd campaigns from concept through execution to ensure proper implementation
- Compile all internal resources for agency use – photos, copy, video, etc.
- Maintain up-to-date agency resources
- Coordinate trade advertising – insertion orders, ticket requests, distribution, ad trafficking
- Manage reservations and insertion orders for media
- Traffic ads through internal Met channels – editorial, artistic, customer care, etc. – to create print advertisements, outdoor, online, and collateral materials to support the overall marketing strategy
- Work with Marketing Copywriter to develop messaging
- Maintain and update advertising reports (results, tracking, expenses, campaign overviews, etc.)
- Maintain relationships with outside organizations and act as a liaison between the Met’s marketing department and various media and advertising firms
- Responsible for ensuring all media invoices are accurate
- Identify new media opportunities and services
- Compile proposals and make recommendations based on marketing goals and budget
- Proofing as necessary
- Coordinate American Ballet Theater and Met summer events advertising
Promotions
- Coordinate the internal setup of promotions, including source codes, promotion codes, and offer details
- Communicate offer details to internal departments
- Track and report on efficacy of promotions
- Investigate new promotion channels and make recommendations
Group Sales
- Create collateral material to support the group sales effort
General
- Provide phone coverage, maintain calendar, schedule appointments and arrange meetings
- In general, assist the Associate Director of Marketing and Advertising with scheduling, projects, and other tasks as assigned
Qualifications and Skill Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent (preferably in Marketing, Advertising, or Business Administration)
- Minimum of 1-2 years experience in marketing
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to prioritize in high-pressure environment
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; Tessitura a plus
- Knowledge of and interest in opera/the performing arts a plus
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and be flexible in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Innovative and enthusiastic team player
- Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends
