Semo Merjanian and Steven Merjanian
Dear Metropolitan Opera,
The Met has always been part of the landscape of our lives. Our parents’ most prized possession was a hand-wound phonograph on which they played their precious shellac records — recorded on only one side and very breakable. Every night after dinner, our father would play some of them for the family after making sure there was no dust or scratch on them.
We were quite young when we attended our first Met performance. We were familiar with the music because of those treasured recordings. Actually hearing and seeing an opera on stage was a fantasy. Recently, we attended a dress rehearsal and saw hundreds
of children in the audience. I am sure that they will never forget their day at the Met, much as we have never forgotten our first live Met performance.
Now that we have established gift annuities and provided for the Met in our wills, we are so proud to be Associates of The Encore Society. After all, people need to support and take moral ownership of those things that are most important to them.
Sincerely,

At a time when CD rates are so low, you, like the Merjanians, might want to consider a gift annuity. In return for making an irrevocable gift to the Met, you could receive income payments, tax benefits and become Associates of The Encore Society as well.
To learn more and to find out what rate you would be entitled to, please write or call.
