Judy and Stephen Dunn
Heidi Grant Murphy and Susan Graham, Act II of Der Rosenkavalier -- performance that the Dunns saw together at the Metropolitan Opera.
Dear Metropolitan Opera,
Judy: As a child, my aunt brought me to The Old Met and I have vivid memories of being forced to leave a performance of La Bohème to catch a train before I had a chance to see Mimi die.
Stephen: I had studied voice but never seriously considered pursuing a performance career although I did develop a deep appreciation for the operatic repertory.
It wasn't until we were married five years that we realized we shared a love of opera. During a vacation in San Francisco, when we impulsively decided to attend a performance of Das Rheingold, we discovered our mutual interest and decided to pursue it together. And what a wonderful dimension it has added to our lives!
We have attended opera performances around the world, but without a doubt the Metropolitan Opera is our absolute favorite. No opera house in the world can begin to rival it for quality, consistency, music, spectacle and the magical integration of all the elements that combine to form the unique art of opera.
Having moved to New York to be closer to the Met, we have become annual Patrons and recently created a charitable remainder trust naming the Met as a significant remainder beneficiary. It is another away for us to say "thank you Metropolitan Opera, thank you for the magic."
Sincerely,
If the Met has been part of your past, please join the Dunns in being part of its future.
There are so many ways to do so – by will, in a trust or annuity, among other choices.
You can receive income, certain tax benefits and become an Associate of The Encore Society, too.
The Met can help you find the plan that works best for you.
