Letters to Toll Brothers

July / August 2007

Many thanks for your generous support of The Metropolitan Opera Saturday broadcasts. Many, many people first became acquainted with opera through these broadcasts and some of them have become major stars in the operatic universe. After hearing "Texaco presents" for so many years on Saturday afternoons, it will be a pleasure to hear "Toll presents."

Larkspur, California
I, along with the rest of the opera-listening world, thank you and your corporation for your financial support of The Metropolitan Opera Broadcasts. May your relationship with The Met be a long and happy one.
Eugene Brister
My wife and I purchased a Toll Brothers home in Orange, CT two years ago and have been extremely happy. I am now ecstatic to discover that you have agreed to underwrite The Met Opera Broadcasts; they are a national treasure that must be saved. Thank you for your generous support.
Alan Ruskis, MD
Orange, Connecticut
I wanted to send you a personal thank you for sponsoring The Met Broadcasts. The radio broadcasts are the only way for millions of poor, elderly, or disabled opera lovers who do not have Internet access to hear them.
Ruth C. Jacobs
San Francisco, California
I thought you would appreciate knowing that my mother, who is very active in The Metropolitan Opera, was extremely excited to see that Toll Brothers was going to sponsor the broadcasts. You have created a positive image to a very influential group of New Yorkers!
Jim Meyer
As a life-long (50 years...) opera lover, and currently a Personal Assistant to one of today's greatest operatic sopranos, I want to thank you and Toll Brothers for sponsoring The Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcasts. The unsure future of the broadcasts has created great anxiety among the worldwide opera loving public and opera professionals, alike. Hearing the news that Toll Brothers stepped up to the plate and took on sponsorship has been cause for elation, and I am sending up thanks upon thanks.
Your website is beautiful, and your homes stunning. You can be sure that I'll send the many second-home buyers/builders of my generation and acquaintance to your website. You have my great thanks for your generosity and demonstration of social and cultural responsibility in doing what you've done. With all best regards to you, and everyone at Toll Brothers.
Jesslyn Cleary
THANK YOU for your commitment to bringing opera to the rest of the country! Your firm name is new to me, but it will be uppermost in my thoughts from now on.

From all lovers of great music--and we are in the thousands* -- thank you so very much for your great gift to us, to the U.S. and to music itself.
Peter Bloch
*[Editor’s note – there are millions of listeners to each week’s broadcasts]
I understand that you are sponsoring The Metropolitan Opera Broadcasts. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. This generosity is important for the future growth of music appreciation by young listeners. They are the arts supporters of the next generation and need to be encouraged NOW.

Unlike many who I'm sure have thanked you for your support of The Met Broadcasts, I am very familiar with your business and with the homes your company has built. I'm a former real estate agent in Maryland, now living in Santa Fe, New Mexico--AND, to boot, an opera lover for almost 50 years! So, your company's support of The Met will not go unnoticed by some of my former clients who purchased homes in your Montgomery County, Maryland communities. And that is especially true because they know of my love for opera; my license plate in Maryland was "VVVERDI"!! Your company is a "class act"--very fitting to be associated with The Met.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks to Toll Brothers for supporting the continuation of the Saturday broadcasts of The Met operas. This series has been an important part of my and so many others' lives for years. We are all so happy that the operas won't be dropped. I hope that the response, in thanks and in business, will set a good example for other companies, and for the Toll Brothers, to continue supporting opera!

Thank you so much for your contribution to help keep The Met Broadcasts going. I hope you enjoy hearing them as much as I will!

As an avid listener to The Metropolitan Opera Broadcasts, I would like to thank you for your company's wonderful donation toward keeping the broadcasts on the air.

As a long time listener to The Met Broadcasts, I want to thank Toll Brothers for deciding to support this invaluable institution. Whatever your reasons, be they for upgrading your image or for seeing a need and answering it, I and millions of others like me will certainly think of Toll Brothers as a first-class operation. Again, thanks.
