Sylvia — American Ballet Theatre
A ravishing fast-paced fantasy set amid verdant forests and majestic temples, Sir Frederick Ashton’s mythological love story unites the huntress Sylvia and a lovelorn shepherd with the divine intervention of the deity Eros. The splendid score by Léo Delibes was so admired by Tchaikovsky that he purportedly declared: had he known the music existed at the time, he would never have composed Swan Lake!
