Career Highlights: Studied piano at an early age, attended the first class of New York City’s High School of Music and Art, followed by studies at The Juilliard School, Tanglewood (1941), and Chatauqua (1942). In 1946-47 performed under Leonard Bernstein at City Center. He is known for the conductors’ batons and timpani sticks that he has been making as a hobby since 1964.
