On New Year's Eve, the Met presents the world premiere of The Enchanted Island, an original Baroque fantasy featuring music by Handel, Vivaldi, and Rameau, with a new libretto by Jeremy Sams inspired by Shakespeare. The production is designed and directed by Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch, the creative forces behind the Met¹s acclaimed production of Satyagraha. Eminent conductor William Christie leads an all-star cast headed by David Daniels, Joyce DiDonato, and Plácido Domingo.
