Watch a preview of the Met's new production of Rigoletto, presented by the Guggenheim Museum's Works & Process. This program featured director Michael Mayer and set designer Christine Jones with moderator Ira Glass, discussing Verdi's great work and how they set the production in 1960 Las Vegas. Rigoletto stars Diana Damrau, Piotr Beczala, and Željko Lučić performed excerpts from the opera, accompanied by Craig Rutenberg.

Cocktail Competition

Six of New York City’s top bartenders compete to create the best cocktail celebrating the Las Vegas setting of the Met’s new Rigoletto. Hosted by mixologist Allen Katz, the competition will be judged by cocktail authority Gaz Regan, acclaimed mixologist Lynette Marrero, last year’s champion Meaghan Dorman, and a surprise guest from the world of opera.
This pre-performance event for Met Opera Students and their guests begins at 5:30 pm, with the winner announced just before 7 pm.
