LES CONTES D’HOFFMANN OPEN DRESS REHEARSAL TICKET DRAWING: OFFICIAL RULES


NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.

The Metropolitan Opera offers a Free Drawing for 1,400 pairs of tickets to the final dress rehearsal of Les Contes d’Hoffmann at the Metropolitan Opera House on November 30, 2009 at 11:00 am.

Limit one (1) entry per person and per household.  Multiple entries will be disqualified.  One (1) pair of tickets per Winner. Only individuals who are at least 18 years old, who are citizens or legal residents of the United States and who submit an entry from within the United States are eligible to enter. Directors, officers, employees and agents of The Metropolitan Opera and their families and household members are not eligible. Void where prohibited by law. By submitting an entry, each entrant represents that he or she meets these eligibility standards.

Entries must be submitted via the Met website (www.metopera.org) between 12 PM (Noon) on Friday, November 13, and 8:00 PM on Wednesday, November 18, 2009. Late entries will not be eligible.  No entries submitted by any other means, including telephone, e-mail or mail will be accepted. Entries generated by script, macro, bot or other automated means are prohibited and will be disqualified. 

Winners will be selected at random from all eligible entries and announced after 12 PM (Noon) on Thursday, November 19, 2009. Winners will be notified by email according to the information provided in the entry.  A list of Winners will be listed on the Met website at www.metopera.org.  By entering this Drawing, an entrant consents to his or her name being listed on the Met website if drawn as a Winner.

There will be 1,400 Winners selected. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries submitted. Dress rehearsals are not open to the public and tickets have no market value. Only one drawing will be held. 

Winners must pick up their tickets at the Metropolitan Opera Box Office by 5:00 PM on Wednesday, November 25, 2009.  Box office hours for picking up tickets are Mon-Thu 10:00 am – 5:00 pm; Friday 10:00 am – 7:00 pm, Sat-Sun 1:30 pm – 6:00 pm.   Confirmation e-mail and proper photo identification must be presented at the Box Office window to receive tickets. Winning entries may not be sold or otherwise transferred.  Ticket locations are assigned at random and are not subject to change.  There will be no substitutions.  Tickets not claimed by 5:00 PM on Wednesday, November 25 will be forfeited. In light of the short time period between the end date for ticket pick up and the date of the dress rehearsal, no alternate winners will be selected.

The Metropolitan Opera's determination of eligibility is final.  The Metropolitan Opera makes no warranties or guarantees, express or implied, with regard to the Drawing.  Any Winner may, at the discretion of The Metropolitan Opera, be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and/or Release, and failure to do so as requested will result in forfeiture of any prize. All entries become the property of The Metropolitan Opera. By submitting an entry, entrants agree to these Rules and the decisions of The Metropolitan Opera, its officers, directors, employees and agents, which shall be final, and release them from any and all claims and liability arising out of the Drawing, including, without limitation, the selection of the Winners.  The Metropolitan Opera expressly disclaims any and all liability for any computer equipment or software failure or malfunction or any damage caused to any entrant's computer equipment or software.  The Metropolitan Opera is not responsible for any typographical, human or other error of any nature with respect to entries, administration of the Drawing or announcement or notification of Winners.  Any entry containing any omission, misstatement or error of any nature whatsoever may be disqualified in the Metropolitan Opera’s sole discretion.  The Metropolitan Opera reserves the right to terminate this Drawing, if, in its sole discretion, it determines that the Drawing is not capable of running as originally planned.  By entering, entrant agrees that (1) this random drawing and any and all aspects of the relationship between The Metropolitan Opera and entrants shall be governed by the laws of the state of New York, without giving effect to its conflicts of law principles, and (2) any litigation, claims, disputes or controversies concerning, arising out of or in connection with the Drawing shall be brought only in a federal or state court in  New York,  New York, and entrant consents to the exclusive jurisdiction of such courts and waives any objection or defense concerning jurisdiction or venue that entrant could otherwise have in such courts.

For a list of Winners, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope between November 19, 2009 and December 31, 2009 to The Metropolitan Opera, Lincoln Center, New York, NY 10023, Attention: Editorial & Communications Department.  Requests postmarked after November 30, 2009 will not be honored.
