Nabucco at Masada (May 29-June 6, 2010)

"Few sights can be as stirring as Jerusalem's golden Dome of the Rock glowing in the sunset, the whole of the honey-colored city stretched out below, with wild thyme and rosemary scenting the balmy air. Israel........is full of such magnificent views and unexpected contrasts. There are the bright lights and skycrapers of lively Tel Aviv; or the dazzling salt islands floating on the Dead Sea, shimmering in a permanent heat haze...........learn the tragic story of Masada, high above the Dead Sea; or marvel at the oldest document known to man, in the Israel Museum."
Sue Bryant, Globetrotter, Israel. New Holland, Fourth Edition

What better way to immerse in 5,000 years of history than to experience Verdi’s masterpiece Nabucco performed at the foot of the towering backdrop of Masada. In Tel Aviv, we will be welcomed at the Israeli Opera during our two days of sightseeing and relaxation before going on to Jerusalem where we will spend three days balancing guided sightseeing with independent time. A host will be present to arrange additional activities or dining as requested. On the arrival evening at the Dead Sea, we will attend a performance by the renowned Jessye Norman featuring opera arias, lieder, folk songs and spirituals.

Price: $5,950
