November 17 – Turandot: Puccini’s Final Bow

Puccini’s unfinished masterpiece has long been the source of controversy, especially in academic circles. Jeffrey Langford examines what lies behind these points of contention,
as well as Puccini’s significance as the twentieth-century heir apparent to Verdi and the vital tradition of nineteenth century Italian opera.
